Pat Shannan's MUSINGS
Sow the Wind and Reap the Whirlwind
We are headed for really big trouble.
Most people have been too busy enjoying the good life to witness the evidence of their own capture all around them. The goal of the New World Order is to totally control the world's population, resources, communications, finances, trade, and labor. Reaching these goals requires the destruction of the nation, sovereignty, patriotism, nationalism, property rights, and the family unit. The 9/11 attack was a well-orchestrated plot to destroy liberty, and yet the people still sleep.
Now that the government has declared War on Terrorism, the logical assumption would have to be that we should expect more terrorism. Why? Because when the government declared War on Poverty we got the homeless; when they declared War on Illiteracy we got dumbed-down graduates who couldn't read their own diplomas; when they declared War on Crime the crime rate soared, and when they declared War on Drugs we got pill-pushers on every street corner. Sex Education brought more teenage pregnancies, as the teaching of birth control always seems to bring more experimentation. So brace yourself for more terrorism. It is preordained to promote more people control.
Giant steps are being taken toward the imposition of a National I. D. Card for all Americans. A Presidential Executive Order has been issued and congressional legislation is pending. While the "Know Your Customer" government edict to banks was soundly defeated prior to Y2K, Senator John McCain says, "It will pass now."
The parallel is alarming. Local police no longer swear an oath to defend the constitution, and they think their slogan means to "Protect and Serve" the government. They are being trained in paramilitary techniques by federal agencies and are learning their lessons well. The increasing number of horror stories of SWAT teams breaking into private residences, holding the victims hostage, and ransacking their possessions often include local law enforcement personnel cooperating with the federal agents and sharing in the dividend booty of the raid, as "asset forfeiture." You may presume that "license" was granted on 9/1/01 for them to stop us on the highways, search on a whim, and confiscate whatever they like - even your weapon.
And it also appears that this "new" war (on terrorism) had already begun long before it was officially declared, and the U. S. Government not only had ample notice from Russia and the Israeli Mossad but also may have complied with the preparation, inadvertently or otherwise. Reports say that the pilots were trained at four U. S. flight schools: Embry Riddle in Florida, Airman Flight School in Oklahoma, Coastal Aviation in North Carolina, and Richmor Aviation in New York. At least 16 of the 19 terrorists entered the country on legal visas during the Clinton regime.
The speed with which Osama bin Ladin was accused and targeted (government spokesmen were "90% sure bin Ladin is involved" on the first afternoon) reminded us of how quickly Lee Harvey Oswald was singled out as the "lone nut" assassin of JFK in 1963. In those pre-internet days of naivete, Americans had a larger biographical sketch of Oswald by nightfall then they could find in their libraries about George Washington.
Anthony Cordesman, a terrorism expert from the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, warned against assuming bin Laden is to blame, stressing, "There is a level of sophistication and coordination that no counter-terrorism expert had ever previously anticipated, and we don't have a group that we can immediately identify that has this kind of capability."
Because it is known that Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Manuel Noriega, and Ayotollah Khomeini are CIA creations from the several previous conflicts of the 1970s and 80s, the Center officials may not want to identify the group.
The 11 September attack has been described by experts as being too sophisticated for a lone terrorist group to execute. This attack required a high level of military precision and the resources of an advanced intelligence agency. In addition, the attackers would have "needed to be extremely familiar with both Air Force One flight operations, civil airline flight paths, and aerial assault tactics on sensitive US cities such as Washington," stated David Stern, an expert on Israeli intelligence operations.
According to the Health Education Trust in London, an estimated 200,000 Iraqis died during and in the immediate aftermath of the slaughter known as the Gulf War. This was never news that touched public consciousness in the West. At least one million civilians, half of them children, have since died in Iraq as result of an embargo imposed by the U. S. and Britain.
If that is not enough motivation to provoke an attack, does anyone dare mention the jillions in American bux gone for financial support over the past 53 years to the Arab's archenemy? And if this a war between good and evil, which side are we on?
The people in the Middle East will continue to grieve the loss of innocent life in America. But at the same time they will wonder if the news media of the West ever devoted a fraction of the present coverage to the dead children in Iraq or the 17,500 civilians killed in Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon.
A US military intelligence source revealed details of an internal intelligence memo that points to the Israeli Mossad intelligence service having links to the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks. The intelligence source, who requested his name be withheld, confirmed the internal US intelligence memo circulated four weeks ago described information that pointed to the threat of a covert Israeli operation on US soil to turn mass public opinion against Palestinian Arabs via an apparent terrorist attack on US interests. This would give Israel the green light to implement a large-scale military onslaught against the Palestinian Arab population.
On the day following the WTC attack, television news in Beirut announced that the Israeli media had hurried to take advantage of the incident by bemoaning the fact that some 4,000 Israelis worked at the Trade Center and were presumed dead. Early reports said Israel was in mourning for the loss.
Then some "victims" began to call home, and no more was mentioned about the large number of dead Israelis. Later it became clear that, much as with the ATF and judges in Oklahoma City, large numbers of Israeli worker remained absent from work on the day of the attack. There has been no further mention of a "mass mourning" in Israel. The story, however, has been labeled as another notion of "conspiracy theorists."
Hints from the Israeli General Security Apparatus, the Shabak, evoked unannounced suspicions by American officials who wanted to know how the Israeli government learned about the incident before it occurred, and the reasons why it refrained from passing the information on to the U.S. authorities.
Suspicions had increased further after the Israeli newspaper Yadiot Ahranot revealed that the Shabak prevented Israeli premier Ariel Sharon from traveling to New York to participate in a festival organized by the Zionist organizations. Aharon Bernie, the commentator at the newspaper, brought up the issue and came up with a negative conclusion, saying "no answer."
Bernie added that Sharon, who was delighted for having his speech placed at the top of the festival agenda, asked the head of the organization to mediate and convince the Shabak to change its position, but his attempts were in vain. The next day, after Sharon's secretary officially announced that Sharon would not participate in the festival, the attack on the World Trade Center took place.
Logan International
Meanwhile, popular Boston talkshow host and columnist Howie Carr unleashed a cynical attack on the local constabulary, citing the inefficient security at Logan Airport, mentioning the posted warnings there about the dangers at the Port au Prince Airport, and wondering if Logan is much better.
"The last time I flew," said a man from Cambridge to Howie, "I was checked through by a fat man wearing a turban who could not speak English!"
Carr says that the Massachusetts State Police group who work the airport detail are so old that they don't issue them cars anymore but walkers, and he wonders why Logan has become the "retirement home" for law enforcement.
Carr's diatribe didn't stop with the locals. He has even less love and respect for the fibbies.
"It's hard to figure out how to thwart terrorist attacks when you're drunk on a party boat with topless bimbos, or too busy trying to put your galpal in the London office . . .. And I'm sorry, but are the FBI agents in the Boston office capable of anything other than blowing off murderers who want to give themselves up and then lying about it, or threatening one of their wives, or trying to scam a Home Depot out of a tractor in Virginia while at an FBI training mission in Quantico. . . . ?
"And that's just the last month for the Boston FBI office. In many respects, this hasn't been a particularly scandal-ridden month for the Boston FBI. At least they didn't frame anybody for a murder they didn't commit. Not that we know of, anyway."
FLASH: The evidence existing in the hands of trusted sources shows that one of the Middle Eastern suspects from the OKC bombing six years ago is now employed as a baggage-handler at Boston's Logan International Airport. An Airline mechanic says that additional box cutters were found taped under passenger seats on other flights.
Was WTC Loaded with Explosives?
On a 500-mile automobile jaunt that day, I did not have benefit of the live TV images the rest of the world was viewing. On the car radio that afternoon, George Weber of FOX News gave an itemized, timetable summary of the morning's events where, at the time, he had been reporting from the street, only a block away.
At the part about the collapse of the first WTC Tower, he said, "I heard a loud explosion and turned and saw the building collapsing in front of me. It was the most frightened I have ever been in my life."
He said he began to run for his life up the street, away from the white blob of dust chasing him. "It was surrealistic," said he and other reporters, "like a scene from a sci-fi movie."
His remarks registered and came to mind again after midnight when I was finally able to watch the TV in my motel room. Those two towers dropping straight down as they did took me back to May 23, 1995, when I stood on NW 5th Street in Oklahoma City and watched the destruction of evidence at the shell of the Murrah Building. Both WTC towers were dismantled in the same manner.
The next morning I was making calls to those with far more expertise in the matter than I. No demolition necessary, said they, and they confirmed that the intense heat from the jet fuel fires on the upper floors could have melted the steel bindings and caused one floor to pancake into another - just as the propaganda machine was reporting.
But if these were the real facts, that the sole cause of the collapse was melting steel, could anyone explain why the South Tower came down after only 47 minutes "in the oven," while the North Tower, hit 18 minutes sooner, remained standing for 39 minutes after the South Tower collapsed?
Gen. Ben Partin, retired demolition expert from the Air Force, says that he has seen nothing to indicate imploding charges inside the building and concurs with the melting steel theory. He further suggests that the South Tower fell first because it was supporting much more weight from above the point of impact than was the longer-standing North Tower.
Not All Agree
The debris fell primarily inward. The tower did not break off intact and collapse into other buildings. The videos show the crumbling coming from the top above the damage and moving at a uniform rate. All of the structural members were destroyed in a smooth pattern, so there is no remaining skeleton.
Then there is the bizarre case of Building Seven, which took a dive some eight hours later. It was not hit by any missile and was not on fire. Yet it imploded and collapsed on itself after 5:00 p.m. We were told that it caught too much debris from the falling towers, but both layman and experts scoffed at that dubious explanation. If a meteor struck a 47-story office building, would it totally flatten it? Or would it more likely come in like a giant bowling ball and rip a large hole through the structure? For the record, these buildings were constructed in the 1970s to withstand 200-mph winds and the impact of a 707, the largest airliner in use at the time.
The collapse of the building appears "too methodical to be a chance result of airplanes colliding with the structures," said Van Romero, Vice President for Research at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and former Director of the Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center at Tech.
"My opinion is, based on the videotapes, that after the airplanes hit the World Trade Center, there were some explosive devices inside the building that caused the towers to collapse," Romero said. "One of the things terrorist events are noted for is a diversionary attack and a secondary device."
"The damage is uniform damage is uniform, symmetric, and total" said another engineer. In summary, it looks exactly like a demolition because that's what it was."
FOX's George Weber was not the only one to mention the explosions. A group of five Columbia University students (interviewed on TV) had been observing the two burning towers and told of hearing a series of small explosions only a moment before the building fell. Firemen and bystanders on the street witnessed the same, before running for their lives.
And what about the light passenger loads on all four flights? Is it not unusual to have a coast-to-coast flight with fewer than a hundred passengers? Or even two hundred? American Flight #11 carried 81 passengers; American Flight #77, only 58; United Flight #175, 56; and United Flight #93, a skeletal 38. We have to wonder how many cancellations there were during the previous 24 hours, and how many were U. S., Israeli, or Arab bureaucrats?
Red Cross Bonanza
The word the first week that the Red Cross had already taken in $millions, plus the teletype messages across the TV screen on every major channel urging everyone to send their financial support, brought back ill feelings of more than 30 years.
As a survivor of Biloxi's Hurricane Camille in 1969, I saw the Red Cross' avarice in action. The eye of the storm came through at midnight, and shortly after daylight the Red Cross trucks were lining every parking lot. Those who did not have a quarter, which was most of us, were turned away. Fortunately, we soon found the real "storm troopers," The Salvation Army, who were dispensing coffee and donuts free of charge. As with the gasoline gougers of recent memory, it is something one never forgets. My personal boycott has been in effect ever since.
At Oklahoma City in 1995, when Glenn and Kathy Wilburn told us their personal story of the Red Cross stealing cash and checks from envelopes addressed to the family but diverted by the post office to the Red Cross, we could readily see that little had changed.
The first week the Wilburns, whose heart-rending story of losing two grandchildren at the Murrah Child Care Center had been telecast to the world, received over 100 letters with between $10 and $100 in cash or check enclosed. The address on the envelopes was inadequate, but by that time everyone at the post office knew who the Wilburns were, and the mail was delivered. Then someone from somewhere directed the postmaster to divert all the letters with an incorrect address to the Red Cross office downtown.
A month later, the Wilburns received over 4,000 letters from well-wishers around the world - delivered in several bundles from the Red Cross office. Each one had been systemically severed at the top and the money removed. Many of the handwritten messages told of the money enclosed, but not one of the envelopes contained a single bill or check by the time it reached the Wilburns. The OKC office of the Red Cross had stripped them clean of a probable sum totaling six figures.
The message here is that if you desire to administer financial aid to a certain someone in New York or Washington or a needy family who lost a breadwinner on one of the air crashes, find out the particulars and send it to them directly. Otherwise, your good intentions will be diverted and left unappreciated.
Some Amusing Anecdotes
Congressman John Cooksey (R-La.) got in hot water for saying, "If a man has a diaper on his head strapped on with a fan belt, that guy needs to be pulled over and checked!" When pressure from the Arab-American community forced Cooksey into a politically correct apology, he said that the was referring to bin Ladin only but added that the war on terrorism can't be won "if we have to stop every five minutes to make sure we're being politically correct."
Well said, Congressman, but please don't let your hysteria drive you to the brink of "Police State Correct."
When NBC Today Show pollyanna-turned-fear-monger Katie Couric was interviewing First Lady Laura Bush, she eventually got to the "plight" of the children. She asked Mrs. Bush, former teacher and librarian, what parents should do to help their kids, particularly young children, understand the magnitude of what happened without the children fearing that they would become the next victims of a terrorist attack.
The charming and demure First Lady's reply was, "Turn off the television!"
Christian icons Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson caught flak from FOX-TV's Bill O'Reilly and Linda Vester, who seethingly scolded both preachers after Falwell appeared on Robertson's TV show. Falwell had opined that God had withheld His protective hand from America during the terrorists attacks, and Robertson lent his agreement, so they both were held in equal contempt by the FOX duo.
O'Reilly, normally the best informed and balanced of interviewers, insisted that no one could know the mind of God, therefore delegating Falwell and Robertson to the realm of extremist Christian bigots whose collective credibility had been shatter in one fell swoop.
Hmmm. Are we incapable of understanding the mind of our Creator? What about that instructional course called the Holy Bible? Does it not contain the mind of God? But rather than counter with such basic logic, Falwell acquiesced to politically correct pressure, backed down, and apologized.
Of course, O'Reilly dare not confound his audience with such basic Truths nor offend the transgressors without jeopardizing forever his seat in front of the microphone.
Flash: Title 14 CFR 108.11 already authorizes airline pilots to carry firearms.
Check it out yourself. Meanwhile, as we go to press, the Airline Pilots Association is petitioning Congress to pass a law allowing them to carry firearms in the cockpit. Doesn't this association have lawyers, and don't these lawyers ever check the law books? It's already there! Here's a piece:
Sec. 108.11 Carriage of weapons. (a) No certificate holder required to conduct screening under a security program may permit any person to have, ...on or about his or her person or property, a deadly or dangerous weapon, either concealed or unconcealed, accessible to him or her while aboard an airplane for which screening is required unless:
(1) The person having the weapon is-- (i) An official or employee of the United States (Why are they so !@#$% special?) or ... (ii) Authorized to have the weapon by the certificate holder and the Administrator and has successfully completed a course of training in the use of firearms acceptable to the Administrator.
A friend who is a Delta 767 Captain phoned to inform me of this. Pull up the whole statute and read it closely (www.access.gpo.gov). I asked him about the "certificate holder."
"That's the airline," he barked. "They have the authority to put a gun in anyone's hands, according to the law already on the books."
He's right. That "person" referred to is not restricted to pilots only. They way I read it, the airline can authorize anyone to carry a weapon anytime, and that means you and me. It is strictly up to them. The bozos could have made the flights a lot safer a long time ago by simply utilizing this statute with prudence.
